Real Job: Full-time mom and "Creative Coordinator". MJDesign Dixie Graphics

About Me

I use my Mac because they made me.

I went to work as an intern and had never even seen a Mac. I had 2 years of an interactive design degree under my belt and they needed someone to work graphics, so I took the job. Four years later, I am the Creative Coordinator (we hate to call ourselves designers; we use real software!) and freelance in my spare time.

But in with that “spare time”, I fit in being the Co-Leader for my daughter’s Girl Scout Troop, photographer for the elementary school PTA, make sure to attend every one of my son’s chorus concerts, run to cheerleading and swim team practice, games and meets.

I also have a wonderful, loving husband of 11 years, a beautiful Labrador retriever and a squirrel that has moved into the wall in my dining room, that’s really an office/study hall for our daughter.

So that’s me in a nutshell. I am a 37-year-old neurotic staff writer, graphic designer (gasp), cover editor, creative coordinator, troop leader, swim team mom, cheerleading team mom, chorus mom, cook, chauffeur, wife, dog lover and someone who wishes for more sleep that I won’t use if I had it!

Why write for macCompanion?

Now if you’re wondering how in the world I fit in doing the covers for macCompanion, a few reviews and actually do freelance, you got me! I have no idea how I do everything. If I stop to think about it, I wonder what’s wrong with me that I have to fill every spare minute with something!
