\Richard J. Sutcliffe
Staff Writer
Richard J. (Rick) Sutcliffe, (a.k.a. The Northern Spy) is in real life (sic) Professor of computing science and mathematics at Trinity Western University. He also writes Christian Science Fiction novels, one of which, The Friends, won the EPPIE for best e-published SF of 2003.
He's also a husband, father, conference speaker, preacher, teacher, textbook author, standards committee member (programming languages), web host, church chair, treasurer, programmer, ethicist, and assorted other things.
As The Northern Spy (and under other pen names) he has written about technology issues (and Apple computers in particular) since 1983. The Northern Spy is syndicated monthly by several publications, including MacCompanion, and is also available in RSS feed.
He uses Macs because he needs a reliable computer, and wonders why anyone would run imitations of out-of-date OS and programs on cheap machines.
