About Me
I grew up working our grandparent's dairy farm
most summers and winters since I was 2 years old. I discovered
computing when I was working on my Boy Scout Eagle merit badge
process one summer. I went to see the merit badge counselor who
worked at Central Washington University (CWU) in Ellensburg, Washington. I made a choice right then and there between cow
manure and flies, hayfever and fence-mending or air-conditioned
rooms with men in white coats managing mainframe computer systems.
Well, which would you rather be doing for a living?
And you probably want a Resumé or CV...

Why Macs?
After graduating from CWU with a degree in Office
Management and Data Processing and running my own business in
office equipment repair, I served at a government facility for
many years as an office equipment technician and progressed from
union-based office equipment maintenance technician, computer
maintenance technician, network technician to Telecom Plant Engineer.
Then we bought our first computer system for $10K USD for my
own office at home and thus began MPN, LLC.
As a tech who suffered for years replacing
everything in a PC box, and acting as a "Maytag Repairman" on
Apple computers, I opted for a Mac. It became my productivity
machine for work. I now use a MacBook Pro 17" and iPhone.
I replaced the old trustworthy $10K (Centris 650 as 1st Mac) system with an iMac Series D (since given away) and an eMac (still in use). The family uses an Intel iMac 24". The science-teacher daughter uses an 15" MacBook Pro. My parents have an eMac and 24" iMac and other relatives have been slowly migrating to Macs.
Way back when, after I earned the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certifications (NT and WAN),
I gave away all the PCs I "practiced" on and now offer migration consulting services to Macs.
I have a Masters Degree in Computer Systems. The more I learn, the more I realize how much
I don't know.
Why write for macCompanion?
We created macCompanion magazine via the Macintosh
Professional Network (MPN, LLC). Now that the Mactel sytems can literally "do it all" by integrating competing operating system operations, why even bother using other computer platforms today?
We continue to do consulting work at MPN, LLC and sell Apple products and peripherals through the macCompanion website.
I am an authorized Apple Product Professional and member of the AABA (Apple Authorized Business Agents).
Other Interests
I established the Alternative Energy User Group. I also created the Solar Energy Consultants Group through the professional social network, LinkedIn.
I was a member of the New Energy Congress and cleaned up PESWiki.com and increased traffic by 800%.
I am a member of the TeslaTech Society.
I'm also fairly deep into oxyhydrogen technology solutions.
